Pariah
“Trust me” to find the soft, collapsable
skinbridge between us, and press down
with both thumbs. Beyond bruise, no
sinews safe to regain a buoyancy discarded.
And then, damage most confidently done,
came cleaner than most, wept into your eyes.
A seeing then, within the furloughed truths,
was it a hateful way to be even more intimate?
